They are considered to be important natural enemies of other soil arthropods as <a title=\"Springschw\u00e4nze \u2013 Collembola\" href=\"http:\/\/salamon-oekologie.de\/wcm\/leistungen\/taxonomie\/springschwanzecollembola\/\">Collembola<\/a>. Some smaller species (e.g. species of the subfamily Aleocharinae) presumably partly feed on soil fungi.<\/p>\n<p>I identify adult specimens on species level, except the subfamily Aleocharinae.<\/p>\n<p>A typical species in pitfall traps is <em>Ocypus olens<\/em>.<!--:--><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rove beetles (Staphylinidae) are an important part of the predatory arthropod fauna of arable land and forests.
